He smashed records, he touched the world for decades, he battled his inner demons very publicly, he strived to make a difference, he was his own man. It wasn't until I stopped a minute to reflect on his career that I truly appreciated the awesomeness that he was. The child star who became the King of Pop, who set the world dancing to genius booty shaking beats, who revolutionized the music industry, who passionately sang in the hopes of making the world a better place has passed away.
