He smashed records, he touched the world for decades, he battled his inner demons very publicly, he strived to make a difference, he was his own man. It wasn't until I stopped a minute to reflect on his career that I truly appreciated the awesomeness that he was. The child star who became the King of Pop, who set the world dancing to genius booty shaking beats, who revolutionized the music industry, who passionately sang in the hopes of making the world a better place has passed away. Labels: Happy Monday, Lainne, princess Written by Lainne on Monday, June 15, 2009 I have had a ton of quiet, still time here in Budapest. Time by myself to do nothing..... To sit outside and listen to the birds sing, to see the trees dance in the wind, to watch as the sky bursts with varying colours as the sun sets, to appreciate the deliciousness of a warm breeze as it caresses my skin. At first I was frustrated, and wanting to be doing, moving, accomplishing. I had never sat still for a moment in my life and now a brick wall. Plus, I missed my friends and my daily routine that I took for granted. It's true that we don't know what we've got until we lose it, but it's also true that we don't know what we've been missing until it arrives. These days I find myself being extra thankful. Not only am I embracing new things I didn't even know I was missing, but I am completely in love with, and am grateful for the things I have left behind.
