Happy Monday - Creativity

Creativity invents solutions and gives birth to artistry. It allows us to evolve past existing thoughts and ideas to original concepts. It opens the door to imagination and limitless possibility. Creativity is the gift that gives us the vision to see seemingly ordinary moments as opportunities for expression. Think outside the box. Ask yourself WHAT IF?

Happy Monday - Insight

Insight: the ability to percieve clearly or deeply the inner nature of things (thefreedictionary.com)

I forget exaclty when and where I first read this quote: "Never let a crisis go to waste!". I remember writing it down, at the time, in my journal because I really liked it. It made me think. Never let a crisis go to waste... What an interersting way of looking at a challenge. Are obstacles merely opportunities for us to participate in our own evolution? If so, what if in one perception I could radically change my life?

Happy Monday!!!

When we find ourselves at odds in life or without an explanation we often hear people referring to the same phrase, look to nature and there you'll find your answer.

By simply observing you may witness a life changing event where you were not expecting to find one. If we could all learn to see past our differences and offer our hand in friendship, or good will, what would the world look like?

Happy Monday!!!

Hello! My name is Lainne and welcome to Happy Monday!

This story begins at Carleton University, in Ottawa, Canada. Born from, self-serving roots, it started out as a weekly gathering of myself and a few friends. Our mission was to conquer the Monday blues. We decided that if we got together every Monday for dinner, drinks, coffee, whatever, that we would have something to look forward to, something to get excited about, and thus a reason to get out of bed without growling on Monday morning. Being cleaver students and budding intellectuals we aptly called our Monday evening social event ‘Happy Monday’.

It worked. In no time, I began to look forward to Monday, heck, I was even a little joyous about it. This joy stayed with me even after University. Most people found my Monday mood a tad, lets say curious.... I found myself sharing my University experience with friends, co-workers, sales people, waiters, bartenders, etc. It was becoming overwhelmingly obvious that most people were in definite need of some Monday cheer. Meanwhile, life had become very, very busy. I was living in a big corporate city, and the idea of making a weekly date with friends seemed unlikely. So, I embraced the standard means of communication and the Happy Monday text was given life.

Life has a way of consistently guiding one toward the direction of change, and growth, if you let it. I no longer live in a big corporate city. These days, my life is lived out of a suitcase (a whole other story). My main means of communication has become the internet via my constant companion, Angel, my macbook. Thus, bringing forth the inevitable evolution of Happy Monday.

I find myself pleasantly surprised to have witnessed the life cycle of a University experiment. The simple awesomeness that is Happy Monday has touched the lives of many people. It brings a bright smile to my face to know that even a small amount of grace can be found in its message.
